As a Junior Accounts Payable Specialist at the F.O.C., you will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our financial operations. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing and processing inbound vendor invoices to ensure accurate and timely payments through weekly cheque runs and wire transfers.
- Utilizing a three-way match process to verify and handle invoices, ensuring consistency and accuracy in all transactions.
- Communicating promptly with internal employees and external vendors to update them on the status of their payments, addressing any issues or inquiries efficiently.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with both internal stakeholders, such as Finance department colleagues, and external vendors, to ensure smooth and effective financial operations.
- Coordinating with external suppliers and internal departments to obtain the necessary documents and approvals for invoice processing, facilitating a seamless workflow.
- Reconciling vendor account statements monthly to guarantee that Accounts Payable records align with vendor statements, and resolving discrepancies quickly and accurately.
- Managing the reconciliation of the purchase clearing account and overseeing supplier advance payments to maintain financial integrity.
- Contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of Accounts Payable processes, ensuring that our operations remain efficient and effective.
- Performing additional duties as required to support the Finance Operations Center and its mission.
